The Insect

Description A stack of coins are arranged into a shape and balanced on various fingers.
Start Hold the hand palm up with a stack of four coins held flatwise between the thumb and the middle finger. Keep the fingertips together.
Directions
  1. Slide the top three coins half a coins diameter towards the ring finger.
  2. Slide the top coin forward until it is centered over the index finger with hald of its diameter resting on the bottom coin.
  3. Slide the last coin forward half its diameter so it is centered above the two middle coins.
  4. At this point you should be able to remove all fingers except the middle finger to display the four coins balanced on that finger.
  5. Press the thumb onto the top of the stack, invert the hand 180º and remove the middle finger.
  6. Curl in the index finger and place the back of the first phalanx onto the top coin. Invert the hand to leave the stack balanced on top of the index finger which is then extended (as the hand is rotated back 180º) to display the balance.
Comments Step 4 doesnt need to be performed, its just for explanation really.

Doing up to step 4 and 5 is fairly easy but step 6 is fairly hard to maintain the balance during the hand rotation.

You can skip steps 5 and 6 and instead keep the hand palm up and place the back of the first phalanx of the index finger on top of the stack and hold it between the middle and index fingers as you rotate the hand 180º (so the hand is palm down) to finish the balance.

Larger heavier coins will make this trick easier, as well as look nicer.
