Edge Flip

Description A simple flip move.
Start
Hold a coin edgewise between the tips of the thumb and the middle finger. The hand should be palm up with the fingers pointing upwards.
Directions
  1. Snap the thumb and middle finger together so that the coin is now held flatwise by its very bottom edge.
  2. Slightly release the grip with the thumb (but not entirely) so that the coin tips over onto the tip of the middle finger.
  3. Hold the edges of the coin with the sides of the index and ring fingers.
  4. Move the middle finger to the far edge of the coin and remove the index and ring fingers to get back to the start.
Comments
Not very fancy but can be combined nicely with other tricks like the One Finger Spin to make some interesting combinations.
Variations
False Edge Flip
  1. Perform Step 1 above.
  2. Slightly release the grip with the middle finger and tilt the hand towards the thumb so that the coin moves back to rest on the tip of the thumb.
  3. Tilt the hand back towards the middle finger and slide the thumb along the underside of the coin to its edge and grip it in the starting position.
Edge Flip Toss
  1. Start as for a normal Edge Flip but place a second coin on top so that its center is above the thumb and one edge rests on the center of the first coin.
  2. Perform step 1 above and the second coin should be tossed up into the air and forwards.
You can make the coin fly straight up into the air by moving more of it onto the thumb.

The animation shows this move but the coin is moved to the thumb with the ring and index fingers from the initial stack.
